Project Facts: The Oldcastle IPG facility in Florence, TX upgraded its concrete batching controls with a brand-new IntelliBatch® system. The legacy hardware in the plant was removed and replaced  by Egan Company’s concrete batch team. New controls equipment was designed to improve the consistency, quality, reporting and efficiency of concrete batching. The equipment included a new aggregate handling remote panel, remote operator pedestal station, and Ethernet-controlled Allen-Bradley VFDs to enable precise mud delivery speed control via the IntelliBatch® system. Egan provided its electrical expertise to manage all on-site panel swaps, wiring, and hardware updates. The project scope also included the custom system design and programming, commissioning, and on-site training to provide plant managers and equipment operators with the knowledge and expertise to work the equipment.

A painless install and more efficient batching system

From the early planning stages to the installation and programming of the batch system, Egan provided us with exactly what they promised: a painless install and more efficient batching system. We have a fairly complex setup; with two mixers, liquid color system, and multiple belts and aggregate bins. Egan understood our needs and did everything in their power to fulfill them

From the early planning stages to the installation and programming of the batch system, Egan provided us with exactly what they promised: a painless install and more efficient batching system. This system has increased our cycle and production time

With the added features of Egan’s batching system, our business has been able to improve its bottom line substantially. This system has dramatically increased our cycle and production time as well as improved product consistency. And, our operations people love the ease of working within the system. My only regret is that we didn’t utilize Egan’s system sooner!
